In addition to our owner and Chief Zen Officer Anna, each Above Yoga retreat has one or two additional certified yoga teachers on-site who will lead a portion of the classes and support students in their practice. We find that an opportunity to participate in a variety of classes with various teaching styles adds to our guests’ overall retreat experience.
Anna is the Owner + Chief Zen Officer of Above Yoga. She handles all the planning, pre-trip communication and on-site logistics of all retreats. She loves to teach yoga flows that are accessible to every level of student but offers challenges in an inclusive and warm environment.
Meaghan is a yoga teacher and marketing coach living in Charlotte, NC. Her yoga journey began in the summer of 2012 when she was looking for holistic ways to manage her chronic stress. She approaches teaching from a holistic perspective and specializes in Deep Stretch and Chakra Flow.

This is a eco-friendly and fully autonomous property that is off-the-grid. So, like much of Europe, there is no A/C, but the house’s thick walls and the area’s breeze keep it naturally temperature-controlled. We ask you conserve the villa's water by taking shorter showers and reusing your bath towels through the week.
There is no WiFi access at the retreat property and cell service is spotty. Guests are encouraged to take time away from their devices to reconnect with nature, themselves & other guests. If you need to be in touch everyday back at home, consider buying a local SIM card for your phone.
Average weather for early June: high 77 / low 62. Expect ample sunshine and breezes as we are in the mountains.
Taking more time in Europe before or after is encouraged… no better spot than beautiful Barcelona to stay a few nights to bookend your retreat!
This was my first yoga retreat with Anna & Above Yoga and it exceeded all my expectations. I felt like all of the travel details were under control and the helpful tips on booking trains really made my preparation easy. Once we arrived to the retreat center, I felt like I was in heaven. The home and the property were like something out of a fairy tale book and I was completely in awe the entire time. The first full day of relaxation was my favorite and it was nice to have downtime to do yoga, read, eat healthy food and "just be". The following days were filled with perfectly planned excursions and really enhanced the trip. The bike riding with the picnic was probably my favorite as I would have never been able to plan something like that on my own. The friendships formed on this trip will be something I will carry with me for a long time.

Anna was on point with her communication throughout the entire process. There was never a question that I had that she hadn't already answered or wasn't available to answer in lightning speed. She was so relaxed and inviting the entire trip and never showed any sign of stress, even if there was a hiccup, which honestly, I can't remember if there was.

The South of France was my second retreat with Above Yoga. I love how detailed Anna is with her retreats. The pre-trip organization(flight/travel assistance, packing list, weather updates) is top notch. I also love the groups of people she cultivates to join her on trips. Her retreats are a perfect mix for me of yoga, adventure, and tourism!
